WHAT IS A DIRECT ACCESS BARRISTER?
A direct access (or 'public access') barrister is authorised to receive instructions directly from members of the public. This avoids the need to instruct a solicitor who will then ordinarily instruct a barrister on the client's behalf.
A direct access barrister can provide specialist legal advice (in writing and in conference), assist with the drafting of documents and provide representation at court.
